Job Description
The Strategic Business Specialist is responsible for managing strategic positioning activities that include identifying strategic issues / scope, reviewing research, benchmarking, and analysis, providing required guidance when needed, developing methodologies to guide the design and implementation of the organization's strategic and annual business plans, and managing the strategy monitoring phase in line with developed framework, tools, and guidelines.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and implementation of Strategy and Business Excellence policies and procedures covering all areas of activity
Supervise day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes taking into account leading practices, changes in business environment, cost reduction and productivity improvement
Establish working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
Collect feedback from internal and external stakeholders on issues being faced and other requirements
Contribute to the preparation of progress reports directed to all relevant stakeholders to keep them informed of progress
Actively gain exposure and insights to local market development, business opportunities and the existing regulatory landscape
Attend related forums, seminars, etc. to enrich network and learn about the latest developments and opportunities
Actively participate in on-the-job training, mentoring, and coaching of subordinates
Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow
Promote a high-performance working environment embracing the organization values
Review the organization vision, mission, and aspirations and provide recommendations to clarify main organizational objectives and determine best approach to achieve goals
Update the organization mission, vision, and values, on a continuous basis, and communicate them with employees to ensure implementation across all practices and transactions
Set the organization strategic planning framework and methodology including tools, forms, guidelines and manage their implementation
Conduct the organization current state assessment, and identify the various external factors to detect existing challenges and gaps
Coordinate with the Kingdom s 2030 Vision programs to understand objectives and ensure that the organization strategic plan is aligned with the goals and orientations of the programs
Manage strategic positioning activities that include identifying strategic issues / scope, reviewing research and benchmarking, and reviewing SWOT analysis, and provide required guidance when needed
Develop methodologies to guide the design of the organization strategic and annual business plans based on market analysis and research results
Identify different course of actions for strategy formulation according to strategic analysis outcomes to orient the development of the organization strategy and objectives
Participate in the definition of overall strategic pillars in coordination with concerned stakeholders and lead the development of the organization long-term strategy while ensuring alignment with strategic analysis input and applicable policies
Manage the strategic initiatives development cycle which includes ideas incubation and conceptualization, business cases and assessments, initiative charter development, and funding strategy development ensuring alignment with strategic pillars
Manage the cascading of strategic initiatives and objectives into the organization functions strategies and strategic objectives ensuring alignment with the organization long-term strategy and strategic initiatives
Provide support in the preparation of budget projections and expenditures analysis and provide recommendations to refine the budget allocation process and ensure all operations are within budget
Facilitate strategy implementation by providing support in initiatives change requests and escalation of issues to ensure the realization of the organization strategic objectives
Develop performance monitoring framework, tools, forms, and guidelines to ensure consistent implementation
Manage the strategy monitoring phase which includes developing reporting systems, tracking KPIs, extracting performance reports, assessing progress and impact of strategic initiatives, and formulating final recommendations / corrective action plans to address inefficiencies
Review periodical strategic reports including strategic progress, action plans, risks, and mitigation plans to identify areas for improvement and provide guidance and recommendations
Conduct workshops with Board of Directors and relevant stakeholders in order to discuss strategy performance and results and identify improvement opportunities to be implemented in next strategic planning cycle
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in a Strategy field
Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent is required
