Create detailed drawings and specifications for construction teams to follow.
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that construction is proceeding according to the design plans and specifications
Work closely with architects, construction teams, and other professionals to ensure that the structural design integrates well with the overall design of the building or structure.
Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations to ensure that the designs meet all necessary requirements. Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.
Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.
Liaise with professional staff such as architects and engineers.
Monitor and inspect all work undertaken by contractors to ensure structural soundness.
Administer contracts and manage projects.
Inspect properties to evaluate the conditions and foundations.
Review and approve construction plans to ensure that they are accurate and meet all necessary requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Strong technical skills in structural engineering principles, as well as proficiency in computer aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Revit.
Expert experience in project management.
Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
