Job Description: Structural Steel Detailer

• Key Responsibilities:

Produce Detailed Drawings: Create detailed shop drawings for the fabrication and erection of structural steel components, including beams, columns, braces, trusses, and connections.

• 3D Modeling: Develop 3D models using software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, or similar, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, geometry, and material specifications.

Coordinate with Engineers and Architects: Work closely with structural engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure all details are in compliance with design specifications and project requirements.

Review and Modify Designs: Identify and resolve discrepancies in project documents, propose modifications to improve constructability, and ensure the accuracy of final drawings.Material Takeoffs: Prepare material takeoffs and bills of materials (BOM) for ordering steel components.

• Quality Control: Ensure all drawings and models adhere to industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.

Communication: Communicate effectively with the fabrication and construction teams to clarify details and provide additional support as needed.

Documentation: Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project communications.

• Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field. Certification in steel detailing is a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 03-05 years of experience in structural steel detailing.Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in steel detailing software such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.

Strong understanding of structural steel components, fabrication processes, and erection methods.

• Familiarity with building codes, industry standards (such as AISC, ASTM), and safety regulations.

Attention to Detail: Ability to produce highly accurate drawings and models with a keen eye for detail.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve design issues efficiently.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.

Time Management:* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
