Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures for substation projects.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards associated with substation construction and operation.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Perform regular site inspections to monitor compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits as required.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on inspection findings and corrective actions.
- Investigate and report on all accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Implement corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Maintain an incident reporting system and ensure timely documentation and follow-up.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Promote a culture of safety through regular communication, meetings, and workshops.
- Ensure all personnel are aware of HSE procedures and best practices.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for substation sites.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in substation or power infrastructure projects.
- Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of HSE principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools.
- Demonstrated experience in managing HSE aspects of construction projects.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, subcontractors, and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve HSE issues promptly and effectively.
- Understanding of local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
