Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of electrical substations to maintain uninterrupted power supply.
- Monitor substation performance metrics and implement measures to optimize efficiency and reliability.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and grid operators to manage load distribution and respond to system disturbances.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for substation equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Schedule and oversee maintenance activities, including inspections, testing, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and vendors to procure spare parts and resources necessary for maintenance activities.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of substation technicians and operators to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical substations, power distribution, or utility operations, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of substation equipment, operations, and maintenance practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams, projects, and budgets effectively.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Relevant certifications or licenses may be preferred (e.g., Professional Engineer, NERC certification).
