Summary
The position is primarily responsible for managing and delivering lessons according to the lesson plans developed by regular teachers in the absence of regular teachers.
Position Duties
The Successful Candidate Will Be Expected To
- Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
- Deliver lessons to students as outlined in lesson plans developed by regular teachers.
- Motivate students to learn and participate in the classroom during lessons.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Attend BSD staff meeting, if required.
- Supervise students outside classrooms, if required.
- Coordinate with BSD substitute teacher coordinator for BSD classroom expectations and emergency protocols.
- Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, key stage leader, assistant principal and/or principal.
Qualifications And Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- Sound knowledge of Google Suite and MS Office.

Experience
- Experience as a supply/substitute teacher.

- Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
- Highly developed classroom management skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Maturity to handle a range of situations.
