Job Overview:
Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility Senior Specialist will work with managers, employees, customers to address and develop the organizations approach of the sustainability and CSR strategy and initiatives. Reporting to Sustainability & Internal Communication Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze company policies and processes to identify areas in and processes to which improvements can be made in accordance with the organizations commitment to sustainability.
- Brainstorm and identify creative ways in which the company can balance business obligations with the goal of respecting, supporting, and improving the local and global environments.
- Propose and implement strategies to address various sustainability and CSR concerns including energy use, reduction of pollution, recycling, building and facility design, community needs and general education on sustainability and CSR.
- Draft and implement sustainable organizational policies that address environmental concerns.
- Evaluate efficacy of sustainability and CSR programs; recommends and implements improvements as necessary.
- Develop and execute corporate sustainability initiatives and strategies in alignment with the long-term UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Conduct research to identify environmental, sustainability and community concerns, interests, and issues.
- Consider sustainability and CSR proposals with attention to factors such as cost effectiveness, feasibility, and ease of integration with other programs.
- Draft and prepare reports, presentations, and proposals; presents proposals and recommendations to the key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation and records including budgets and other financials.
- Prepare documentation required for project funding for various environmental and CSR initiatives including proposals and grant applications.
- Cooperate in internal communication scope
- Maintain current working knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, all applicable local, state, federal, and internal environmental laws, and regulations.
- Identify and facilitate training as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in a corporate sustainability/corporate social responsibility role or related capabilities required.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Experience in Financial Institutions environment is a must.
- Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Professional certification is preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough and current knowledge of sustainability practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Presentation skills required to deliver proposals to varying groups of individuals.
