Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a System Administrator at NOVAsat in Eastern Region.
The System Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks including system administration, troubleshooting, technical support, network administration, and information technology management.
Responsibilities:
- To provide customer technical support on customer networks, Servers with Linux OS, troubleshooting, system configuration, and other applications. All work related to the Vessel Tracking Management System installed at ARAMCO Eastern Region.
- First (1st) and Second (2nd) level technical support. Installation and Commissioning of Servers, workstations, and other devices.
- Onsite troubleshooting for both onshore and offshore equipment of Vessel Tracking and Management System.
- 24/7 customer support.
- Writes technical report.
- Liaise with ARAMCO IT, software groups, and AIRBUS regarding VTMS servers located at customers premises.
System Maintenance and Administration:
- Support, troubleshoot & Installation of VTMS devices
- Maintain and support computer systems, servers, and networks.
- Install, upgrade, and configure server operating systems, hardware, software, and applications.
- Monitor system performance, identifying and resolving system issues.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security policies, including firewall, antivirus, and data encryption.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Network Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot network-related issues and ensure optimal network performance.
Data Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and maintain data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Regularly test backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and system resilience.
User Support and Collaboration:
- Provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Automation and Scripting:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline administrative tasks.
- Explore opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, Vsphere, macOS).
- Familiarity with network protocols, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are preferred.
- Maintaining devices such as RADAR, Security devices
- System Administration and Network Administration skills
- Troubleshooting and Technical Support abilities
- Experience in Information Technology management
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus
