GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations across the GCC region, including Value Added Tax (VAT), Excise Tax, Corporate Tax, and other applicable tax obligations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor and ensure compliance with tax laws across GCC countries, including VAT, Excise Tax, Withholding tax and Corporate Tax regulations.
- Ensure compliance with the UAE Corporate Tax regime (effective from 2023).
- Prepare, review, and file tax returns ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct regular reviews to identify and mitigate tax risks.
- Act as the point of contact for tax audits and queries from tax authorities.
- Advise management on tax strategies, legislative changes, and their implications for the organization.
- Provide input on tax implications of business transactions and cross-border activities.
- Support the finance team in ensuring accurate tax accounting and reporting.
- Develop and implement tax-efficient structures in compliance with local laws.
- Conduct training sessions for internal teams on GCC tax compliance and updates.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
- 3-5 years of tax experience, preferably in the GCC region.
- Strong understanding of GCC tax regulations and compliance processes.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus.
