Role Overview:As the Team Lead Technical Designer for luxury retail joinery projects, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of designers to deliver high-quality technical drawings for client submissions and detailed production plans. Your expertise will ensure that designs meet client specifications, manufacturing requirements, and project timelines, fostering innovation and efficiency within the design process.
- Technical Design Execution:
2D Technical Drawings: Create and optimize 2D technical drawings according to company CAD standards for client submissions, mall/authority approvals, and production submittals within specified deadlines.
Detailed Production Documentation: Produce part drawings, bills of material/quantities, cut lists, cutting files, material lists, and packing lists in required specifications and formats for seamless production and outsourcing processes.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, production teams, and installation teams during the design phase to ensure constructability, refine design details, and optimize manufacturing processes.
Value Engineering: Implement value engineering principles to optimize costs while maintaining structural integrity and manufacturability of designs.
As-Built Documentation: Prepare accurate as-built models post-project completion, documenting lessons learned and sharing insights with the design team to enhance future projects.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure production is executed precisely as per approved designs, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
Drawing Quality Assurance:
Review team members drawings for accuracy in design, dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and compliance with project requirements.
Project Briefings:
Understand project intricacies and provide clear briefs and clarifications to both design and production departments as needed, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
Process Improvement:
Evaluate and refine team workflows, identifying best practices and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
Team Development:
Continuously evaluate team members through probationary periods and performance reviews, fostering professional growth and skill development.
Technical Support:
Serve as a primary point of contact for technical drawing-related queries or support, offering guidance and expertise to both design and production teams.
