Job Overview:
Croquis Engineering Consultancy is looking for an experienced Technical Authorities Architect to join our team in Dubai. This role focuses on ensuring that all our projects meet the regulatory requirements of Dubai's key authorities, including Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Etisalat, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The Technical Authorities Architect will lead the compliance process, manage permit applications, and work closely with design , technical and site teams to ensure our projects align with all codes and standards required by these authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Review project designs to confirm alignment with Dubai-specific regulations, coordinating closely with DM, DEWA, Etisalat, and RTA requirements.
- Permit and Approval Management: Prepare and submit permit applications, acting as the primary contact with Dubai authorities to ensure timely approvals and resolve any feedback or issues.
- Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain thorough documentation to support compliance, incorporating all authority requirements into project drawings and specifications.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical advice to project teams, ensuring that all designs comply with the standards set by Dubai's regulatory authorities.
- Review and Quality Control: Conduct in-depth reviews of design documents, making necessary adjustments to fulfill authority standards before submission.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise directly with Dubai authorities and communicate effectively with internal project stakeholders to keep them informed on compliance matters.
- Stay Updated on Regulations: Keep current on all updates to codes, regulations, and best practices from DM, DEWA, Etisalat, and RTA, suggesting process improvements where needed.
- Site Support for Authority Inspections: Provide support to site team to assist with inspections and ensure compliance with authority requirements during key project stages.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
- Experience: At least 8+ years of experience in architectural design and regulatory compliance in Dubai, with direct interaction with DM, DEWA, Etisalat, DCD, TRAKHEES and RTA.
- Licenses/Certifications: Professional licensure or registration as required by Dubai authorities. Successful completion of the Dubai Municipality (DM) exam for architects and engineers is mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in architectural software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and knowledgeable about Dubai-specific building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly explain regulatory requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented and skilled in managing multiple projects and submissions with strict timelines.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to address and resolve compliance issues efficiently and collaboratively.
