Job Description

Job Purpose

Enable the company to become a preferred contractor / ESCO in the Energy efficiency & optimization business domain. Responsible for sales and profitability growth across the business sectors and geographical locations within the UAE.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide the vision organizational strategy and focus to implement the Energy Program for advancing energy management efforts throughout the portfolio including energy conservation programs
  • Provide the leadership for the portfolio wide energy management plans and integrate the processes into facilities and project management operations
  • Serve as the internal leader and go to expert for energy management monitoring emerging trends programs and issues communicating and educating others on relevant topics
  • Evaluate Energy options present recommendations and implement programs for reducing energy and utility usage and the associated costs
  • Maintain knowledge of available energy and utility incentive programs analyze projects in relation to total life cost and prepare proposals for presentation to our client
  • Facilitate a portfolio wide energy benchmarking programs
  • Work with the facilities managers and chief building engineers to ensure that the highest possible scores are achieved
  • Where appropriate maintain the property's ENERGY STAR label other desired standards as per the compliance
  • Utilize the utility data tracker of utility usage for the portfolio and identify energy outliers
  • Develop conservation plans to address high energy users
  • Keep current with applicable codes laws and requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and effective management of risk and liability
  • Develop Energy Conservation Initiatives
  • Develop management routines with engineering facility and project management teams including participation in standing meetings and reporting requirements
  • Develop long - term Operational Strategies
  • Heavy client interaction required
  • Consistently monitor the installed infrastructure in order to identify areas where energy is wasted or energy efficiency needs improvement analyzing utility usage in order to develop conservation projects
  • Create and monitor the utility budgets; this will include calculating existing energy costs as well as the potential savings for the projects
  • Prepare budget, reports and cost estimates along with recommendations and present and advise the management towards achieving the goal of optimizing the business profitability

Finance Scope

  • The incumbent has a high level of responsibility or authority to prepare financial or budgetary data e.g. proposals, BOQs etc.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of HVAC &/or Building Controls &/or ESPC experience (in ESCO)
  • Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) &/or, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is desirable.
  • 5-7 years of experience in engineering and energy savings calculations for performance contracting.
  • 5-7 years of knowledge and practice of M&V protocols and guidelines (like FEMP and IPMVP).

Experience

  • Must have minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience in similar industry.
  • Experience with HVAC/HVAC Engineering desired, including building controls and management systems.
  • Effective face-to-face and virtual presentation, influencing, communicating, and negotiating skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to provide sound and reliable judgment in business solutions.
  • Sound business acumen, including resource management, cash flows, conflict resolution, and contract management.
  • Ability to set up tasks, document and work collaboratively in a physical &/or online team environment with local and global partners.
  • Strong organization and planning skills including electronic file and email management.
  • Very good hands-on practice in MS Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook use and data analytics skills
  • Experience with building energy simulation software programs such as Trane Trace, eQUEST, EnergyPlus, etc.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Must have a functional knowledge about the workings of an energy management company / ESCO
  • Must possess a good understanding of engineering, design skills and concepts and M&V
  • Good interpersonal skills in maintaining business relationship with clients
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills
