The Technical Storekeeper reports and is accountable to the Tech Inventory Controller.
Ship and process specific Task Assignments shall be prepared by the Management Level
The Technical Storekeeper is responsible for:
- To ensure proper operation of the entire Engine Department logistic operations and to ensure the proper administration of purchase requests, orders, answering queries, follow up and receipting for items in AMOS in accordance with the needs to Purchasing Department, and company policies & procedures.
- To record spare parts in AMOS, inventory control and stock take for all Engine Department stores and for receiving, storing AMOS recordings inventory and stock take for all non-consumable Deck Department stores.
- To place and trace orders/deliveries based upon information provided by the Deck Department.
- To enter purchase requests, orders, answering queries, follow up and receipting for items in AMOS in accordance with the needs Purchasing Department, and company policies & procedures.
- To record spare parts in AMOS, inventory control and stock take for all Engine Department stores and for receiving, storing AMOS recordings inventory and stock take for all non-consumable Deck Department stores. The Deck Department will maintain inventory control and conduct stock take and forward in writing the figures for consumable Deck Department items to be entered in AMOS by Technical Inventory Controller.
- To prepare landing manifests, lists and documentation for freight and shipment of stores.
- To report to the Chief Engineer upon joining the ship and to consult with the other Head of departments upon receiving the new goods on board.
- To read their predecessor's relief reports when joining the ship and to discuss any unusual circumstances in the report with the Chief Engineer.
- To adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Chief Engineer, Staff Chief Engineer, Tech Inventory Controller and Management level.
