Job Overview
The Junior Technical Executive will support the Technical Manager and project team in the planning, execution, and quality assurance of construction projects, with a focus on both Civil and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) aspects. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with foundational knowledge in both Civil and MEP engineering, eager to develop their technical skills further. The Junior Technical Executive will assist in technical plan reviews, coordination of resources, basic site inspections, and ensuring projects adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards in both Civil and MEP areas.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support and Coordination
- Assist the Technical Manager in reviewing Civil and MEP engineering plans, design documents, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with Civil and MEP suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to project timelines.
- Provide on-site support and collect data to help address technical challenges, specifically related to Civil works and MEP installations, that arise during construction.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Conduct preliminary site inspections, focusing on both Civil and MEP components, to verify alignment with project specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure Civil and MEP construction activities comply with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, under the guidance of the Technical Manager.
- Help track and document quality control measures to maintain consistent standards across all project activities, particularly in Civil and MEP areas.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including project reports, inspection logs for Civil and MEP work, and materials records.
- Compile daily or weekly progress reports for review by the Technical Manager, highlighting any Civil or MEP-specific challenges or delays.
- Assist in preparing presentations or summaries for internal and client-facing meetings, providing updates on both Civil and MEP progress.
Learning and Development
- Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning to build technical knowledge in construction, Civil engineering, MEP systems, safety practices, and project management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and technical innovations relevant to both Civil and MEP aspects of construction.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in construction, contracting, or a technical support role with exposure to both Civil and MEP systems (internship experience may be considered).
- Skills:
- Basic understanding of Civil and MEP processes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic familiarity with AutoCAD or other design software is a plus.
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
