Job Description

Position Objectives:

The objective of this role is to ensure robust system administration and technical support for the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes managing and maintaining Windows and SQL servers to guarantee optimal performance and system security, while ensuring timely upgrades and patching. Additionally, the role involves providing reliable technical support by resolving Level 1 issues, troubleshooting software and hardware concerns, and delivering a high level of technical support.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

System Administration:

  • Manage Windows and SQL Servers.
  • Monitor performance and maintain system availability.
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages.
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups, and system patching.
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.

Technical Support:

  • Manage business application, review tickets fix level 1 issues and provide user access.
  • Identifying hardware and software solutions.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults.
  • Speaking to customers to quickly get to the root of their problem.
  • Providing timely and accurate customer feedback.
  • Talking customers through a series of actions to resolve a problem.
  • Following up with clients to ensure the problem is resolved.
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications.
  • Providing support in the form of procedural documentation.
  • Testing and evaluating new technologies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
  • Prior experience in tech support, desktop support, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Windows/Linux/Mac OS.
  • Ability to create scripts in PowerShell, Python, or other language.
  • Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
