Primary Purpose of the Role:
To manage the Systems Engineering Process to company and international standards for defined packages of work. To provide line management and technical leadership to Systems Engineers.
The Lead Systems Engineer typically works with a team of engineers to define what will be designed, how it will perform and how it will be determined that it is working correctly.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks for The Assigned System:
- Good understanding of the development lifecycle and lifecycle products.
- Interfacing with the client, to gain approval of test specifications and to host acceptance testing activities (SAT).
- Interfacing with the Consultant, to gain approval of test specifications and to host acceptance testing activities.
- Support the development of test plans and test strategy documents.
- Support the development of test specifications, working from system requirements.
- Execute test specifications (according to test plan and project schedule).
- Record and/or authorise results of test execution.
- Raise/investigate/verify defects.
- Maintain quality target/standard.
- Create/support the development of Maintenance Documents.
- Create/Support the development of all designated/assigned system to you the related system's document, ex: SAT procedures, Maintenance Documents, design specificationsetc.
- Prepares subsystem interface requirements and test requirement documents.
- Supervises staff, by defining their work, coaching them on how and what to prepare, monitoring their progress and directing them on priorities.
Skills (underpinning Knowledge):
- Able to use a range of IT tools.
- Knowledge of the common applications based on Windows (MS Office, Outlook, etc.).
- Working knowledge of project plans.
- Has a working knowledge of Engineering Safety Management.
- Fluent in English.
Technical Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree of Communications engineering
- 3-5 years of proven experience in telecom/communications/light current projects.
- Proven experience in metro and/or railways environments is a plus.
- Networks knowledge is necessary (Must), any certificate is a plus wither associate or professional level.
- Light current experience for systems: -Tetra Radio systems with knowledge of Motorola device and LTE is is plus -Fiber cable Systems -IP Networks knowledge of Alcatel switches -Telephone systems knowledge of Alcatel PABX
