Job Title: Tendering and Estimation Engineer

Job Purpose:
The Tendering and Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing and submitting detailed cost estimates and tender documents for renewable energy and ELV (Low Current) projects. This role requires expertise in Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Bill of Materials (BOM), and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in both renewable energy systems and ELV, with a focus on delivering accurate and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender Preparation: Prepare, review, and submit tenders for renewable energy and ELV projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and client requirements.
- BOQ & BOM Management: Develop and manage comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bill of Materials (BOM) for each project, ensuring all costs and materials are accounted for accurately.
- RFQ Process: Oversee the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, including vendor communication, quote analysis, and comparison to ensure the best prices and terms for required materials and services.
- Cost Estimation: Perform detailed cost estimations for projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other factors to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, procurement, and project management teams to gather necessary data, technical requirements, and cost inputs for tenders.
- Client Communication: Liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues related to tenders and estimates.
- Documentation: Ensure all tender and estimation documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time. Maintain detailed records of all tenders and project bids for future reference.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on current pricing trends, suppliers, and new technologies in renewable energy and ELV systems.
- Compliance: Ensure that all tenders comply with company policies, technical standards, and legal requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in tendering and estimation, with experience in both renewable energy and ELV (Low Current) systems.
- BOQ/BOM Expertise: Extensive experience in preparing BOQs and BOMs for large-scale projects.
- Tendering Process Knowledge: High level of experience in the tendering process, including RFQs and bid submissions.
- Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of renewable energy systems (e.g., solar, wind) and ELV systems (e.g., security systems, access control, fire alarms).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets to generate accurate cost estimates.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in all tender and estimation activities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both internal teams and clients.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in estimation software, MS Office, and ERP systems.
