Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tendering Manager to join our dynamic team. The Tendering Manager will be responsible for managing the entire tendering process, from receiving an enquiry to final submission, ensuring all bids are competitive, compliant, and aligned with our company's strategic goals. This role also involves significant business development activities, including reaching out to new clients, following up with existing clients for new projects, and maintaining long-term relationships to support the company's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the tendering process including managing, reviewing, and analyzing tender documents, scope, contract terms & conditions, and specifications, to understand project requirements thoroughly.
Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., engineering, estimation, sales, contracts) to gather necessary information and inputs for bid preparation.
Develop and manage tender strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market conditions.
Review and analyze price estimates prepared by the costing team to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
Oversee the submission of high-quality, compliant bids within the specified deadlines.
Engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure bid proposals meet their expectations.
Track and analyze win rates, bid-to-win times, and bid cost vs. revenue to continually improve the tendering process.
Ensure all bids comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Maintain an up-to-date database of submitted bids and track their outcomes.
Provide post-bid analysis and feedback to management and relevant teams to enhance future bid success.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, industry events, and direct outreach.
Follow up with existing clients to identify potential new projects and maintain strong, long-term relationships.
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for expanding the client base and increasing market share.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Win Rate - Measure and strive to improve the percentage of bids won compared to the total number of bids submitted.
Bid-to-Win Time - Track the time taken from bid submission to contract award and aim to reduce this duration.
Bid Cost vs. Revenue - Analyze the cost of preparing bids against the revenue generated from winning bids to ensure cost-efficiency and profitability.
Client Satisfaction - Gauge client satisfaction levels with the tendering process and outcomes, aiming to maintain high satisfaction rates.
Number of Bids Submitted - Monitor the volume of bids submitted to ensure a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
Compliance Rate - Ensure a high rate of compliance with all bid requirements and regulatory standards, minimizing errors and omissions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in tendering or bid management within the construction industry.
Proven strong experience in tendering, procurement, or contract management, preferably in a similar industry or sector.
Proven track record in managing tenders for specialized steel structures, aluminum structures, prefabricated and modular buildings, and shades.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tender documents and technical specifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of procurement regulations, contract law, and industry best practices.
Experienced in different types of contracts (FIDIC, ... etc.)
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
Fluency in both English and Arabic languages.
