Position Summary:
The Threading Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining threading machines to produce high-quality threaded components used in various applications. This role involves setting up machines, monitoring production processes, and ensuring that all threaded parts meet the required specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate threading machines, including manual and automatic threaders, to produce threaded components according to specifications.
- Set up and adjust machine parameters such as speed, feed rate, and thread pitch to ensure accurate threading.
- Load and unload workpieces, including setting up material and securing it in place for threading operations.
- Monitor the threading process, checking for defects or deviations from specifications, and make adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on threading machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
- Inspect finished threaded components using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and thread gauges to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including quantities produced, setup times, and any issues encountered.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Collaborate with other operators and supervisors to address production issues and improve processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical or operational problems with threading equipment.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or equivalent; Technical or Vocational certification in Machine Operation or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Threading Operator or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of threading techniques, machine operation, and quality control measures.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools and gauges to inspect threaded components.
- Basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform routine machine maintenance.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow technical specifications and instructions.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to production tasks.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and respond to production demands as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CNC threading machines and automated threading systems.
- Knowledge of different threading standards and specifications.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and troubleshooting techniques.
