Trade Marketing Manager to drive retail strategies, build partnerships, and execute promotional campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
Trade marketing, Horeca channel and Modern Trade ,Brand development, and Sales support.
Job Purpose
The Trade Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive the growth and profitability of our coffee brand through trade marketing activities. This role will involve working closely with sales teams, distributors, and retail partners to execute in-store campaigns, promotions, and other trade-focused initiatives to enhance the brand&aposs visibility and increase sales within the coffee industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Marketing Strategy Development:
- Design and implement trade marketing strategies to support product launches, promotions, and retail activities within the coffee industry.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify trade marketing opportunities.
- Sales and Retail Collaboration:
- Work closely with the sales team to align trade marketing activities with sales objectives, ensuring that in-store execution meets the brands standards and drives sales.
- Develop and manage relationships with key retail accounts and distributors to execute promotional campaigns effectively.
- Promotions and Campaigns:
- Plan and oversee the execution of promotional campaigns and in-store activations, including product sampling, point-of-sale (POS) displays, and pricing strategies.
- Coordinate with retailers to ensure proper placement and visibility of coffee products in high-traffic areas.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring that all activities are cost-effective and deliver a positive return on investment (ROI).
- Track and report on trade marketing spend and performance.
- Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for trade marketing initiatives within the coffee sector.
- Analyze the effectiveness of previous campaigns, gathering feedback from retailers and consumers to optimize future activities.
- Brand Positioning and Visibility:
- Ensure brand consistency across all trade marketing activities, ensuring that our coffee products are positioned effectively in the market.
- Collaborate with the brand marketing team to ensure alignment of trade marketing and consumer marketing efforts.
- Training & Support:
- Provide training and materials to the sales team and trade partners to help them better understand the product offerings and effectively promote them in-store.
- Support sales teams with promotional tools, materials, and communication to ensure the effective execution of trade marketing initiatives.
- KPI Reporting and Performance Measurement:
- Set clear KPIs for trade marketing activities and evaluate the success of campaigns through sales data analysis, customer feedback, and market share performance.
- Regularly report on trade marketing results and provide insights to the senior management team.
Education
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certifications in marketing would be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in trade marketing or brand management, preferably within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or coffee industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing trade marketing campaigns, promotions, and sales-driven activities.
- Experience working with retail channels and distributors in the coffee or beverage industry.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of the coffee industry, consumer behavior, and retail dynamics.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage relationships with retail partners and internal teams.
- Creative thinking with the ability to develop innovative trade marketing strategies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with trade marketing software or CRM tools.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and e-commerce platforms is a plus.
