The Industry Expert is responsible for recommending data sources and potential events, providing expert advice and guidance, and overseeing the development of customized reports
Responsibilities
Provide expertise in the design and implementation of Traffic and Transport Statistics policies and procedures covering all areas of activity ensuring results achievement effectively and efficiently
Provide guidance in the identification and implementation of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices
Remain abreast of Traffic and Transport Statistics leading practice and new trends, and identify recommendations for corrective measures, updates and improvements where required
Establish working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
Provide expertise and guidance in identifying stakeholder engagement barriers and recommend best courses of action
Actively gain exposure and insights to local market development, business opportunities and the existing regulatory landscape
Manage, guide, and assist team to perform operations in accordance with set policies and procedures
Collaborate with Human Resources function to identify and recruit talent for Traffic and Transport Statistics
Set performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate / appraise incumbents and provide regular feedback on performance

Recommend publicly available and privately held data sources to enable spatial and resource industry-related research and analysis
Provide expert advice in analyzing spatial and resource industry trends, establishing forecasts, and developing spatial and resource industry models
Recommend potential events including, but not limited to conferences, seminars, and round tables that can enhance spatial and resource industry knowledge
Propose and establish relationships with external stakeholders to share spatial and resource industry information and technical knowledge
Provide support as needed in the development of relevant socio-economic profiles and industrial scenarios, and review outcomes for validation, correction, and / or improvement
Ensure alignment with business units on requirements and expectations from industrial analyses and advice provision
Provide expert advice as needed on potential data sources to enable / enhance relevant statistical products
Provide subject expertise and guidance to concerned functions during the data collection life cycle
Apply subject expertise in evaluating or supporting in the development of statistical hypotheses
Oversee relevant subject / industrial / technical support during the data processing, statistical analyses, and statistical interpretations life cycle, and engage in consultations as and when needed
Oversee the development of customized reports ensuring fulfillment of communicated research areas and recommend best course of action as needed
Generate new critical insights (I.e, whitepapers, outlook reports, deep dives, etc.,) to support senior leadership in making business and strategy decisions related to the department activities within the transport sector, and aligning those activities with business priorities
Qualifications
Bachelor s / Master's / Doctorate s, Degree in Mathematics / Statistics or equivalent is required
9+ years of experience in a Traffic and Transport Statistics field
