Job Description
Responsibilities:
Assess the existing Transport Simulation Model.
Update and upgrade the same based on the project s requirements.
Modeling new required demand segments such as: freight vehicle movements, public transport, visitors, Park and Ride, etc.
Perform the Transport Assessment and identify traffic issues, passenger flows, bottlenecks, network performances and level of service, etc.
Propose mitigation schemes, diversion plans, alternative scenarios, etc.
Participate in site visits and inspections to assess project progress and identify potential issues or concerns.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements relevant to the field of engineering.
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety protocols to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall success of the engi-neering team and the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree or master s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transport Planning or equivalent.
Minimum experience of 10 years in transport modelling is required.
Technical understanding of the following areas of transport modelling: Transport Assessment, Traffic Impact Studies, Traffic Diversion Plans, Urban Mobility Plans, Urban Traffic Plans, Park & Ride Modelling and analysis.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use geo-spatial software packages such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
Experience in the travel demand modeling tool PTV VISUM is necessary.
Experience in the traffic simulation tool PTV VISSIM is desirable.
Experience in traffic engineering tools such as HCS, SINCHRO, SIDRA, PTV VISTRO is an advantage.
Knowledge and experience of statistical analysis software and programming (i.e, VBA, Python) is an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
Working experience in Saudi Arabia advantage.
Fluent in both English & Arabic language. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.
