Role And Responsibilities
About the role
We are looking for experienced former Naval Operations Officer who has served onboard modern midsized or larger naval warships, to join our Instructor team where you will be responsible for the design, delivery and execution of a variety of training in our naval simulators, working alongside UAE Navy Officers and other expatriate Instructors.
This role is based at the Naval Doctrine and Combat Training Centre (NDCTC) for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Navy as the first element of a distributed and networked naval training system. The UAE NDCTC is located in Taweelah with future plans to connect to other distributed sites. The purpose-built NDCTC facility features a range of integrated ship simulation-based training suites, as well as maritime aircraft sensor stations to enable individual, team, whole-ship, and collective/ joint mission training.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Assisting in the design, planning, accreditation, and execution of all individual training within the Operations Specialisations, in line with UAE Systems Approach to Training (SAT).
- Assessing and reporting on individual, team, and unit performance (if appropriate) in the conduct of relevant specialist training
- Instruct/provide SME (subject matter expertise) in operations subjects within their specialist field
- Knowledge transfer (train the trainer)
- Coordinator of collective training events, e.g. Flotilla or task group exercises, which includes preparation, briefing, debriefing and post-processing/follow-up
- Scenario development and maintenance of the scenario library
- Presenter / Moderator of Tactical Floor exercises
- Exercise Controller or role player in support of Command Team & course training in Tactical simulators.
- Assisting with the development of training references and courses for new navigation systems.
- Supervising UAE instructor training and maintaining the currency of instructor knowledge and qualifications.
