GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The treasury accountant, in collaboration with the Group Treasury Manager, is responsible for overseeing day-to-day treasury operations. This includes monitoring the company's liquidity, ensuring prompt reconciliation of accounts (banks, loans, credit cards, petty cash), assisting in the process of establishing Letters of Credit (LCs), managing bank account KYC requirements, and maintaining comprehensive treasury records.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist with monitoring the liquidity of the Company and its entities by reviewing current and projected cash inflows and outflows.
- Assist with forecasting and managing bank facility requirements including but not limited to Capital Expenditure, Letter of Guarantees, Letter of Credits and Overdraft.
- Responsible in updating bank authorized signatories as per revised account mandates & KYC norms, FATCA forms with banks.
- Responsible for reconciliation of accounts (banks, loans, credit cards, petty cash).
- Ensure in updating bank guarantees tracker on daily basis & prepare bank guarantee NOC and Indemnity forms.
- Ensure in updating LC tracker on daily basis & assist in the process of LC establishment.
- Support in developing policies for petty cash, monetary transactions, bank operations and intercompany transactions. Ensure annual review of policies is conducted
- Record VAT tax invoices for bank charges on a monthly basis.
- Communicate with banks for account updates and requests.
- Safeguard treasury documents.
- Generate ad hoc reports as requested by manager.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Master degree level in accounting & finance.
- Fully qualified accountant of a recognized accountancy body
- Continuous Professional Development in the field of treasury and corporate finance such as but not limited to Certificate in Treasury (CTP), Certification in IFRS (CertIFR ACCA), Certification in Corporate Finance (CFI or ICCF) or equivalent is a plus point.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years post-masters of broad finance experience of which 3 years in treasury and cash functions at consolidation level in a group of companies.
- Proficient in Excel, advanced knowledge of Oracle and the common Microsoft applications, with a keen interest in process analysis, process mapping and automations.
