USAIDs Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project builds on decades of U.S. investments in Egyptian businesses and economic policy with the aim of substantially increasing Egyptian exports from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The TRADE project focuses on seven selected sectors: engineering products, food processing, home textiles, ready-made garments, printing & packaging, chemicals, and building materials. Through the project, USAID works with the Government of Egypt to improve the trade and investment policy environment and reduce barriers to trade. USAID also partners with business associations and export councils to strengthen the trade services ecosystem for small- and medium-sized exporters, as well as with private companies to help them access new international markets to increase export sales. TRADE tackles many trade and investment-related issues to sustainably increase Egyptian exports and drive economic growth.

Overall Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Result 2 Lead, the Intern will assist TRADE staff in various organizational, clerical, and administrative tasks to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities include:

  • Support Result 2 in handling multiple accounts of TRADE project partners as well as assist in drafting plans of workshops and trainings.
  • Assist TRADE project partners in drafting operation plans.
  • Help with basic research needed to draft concept notes.
  • Help Results in keeping a timely response to requests of multiple partners.
  • Assist in producing weekly and monthly reports.
  • Assist with filing hard and digital copies of essential paperwork.
  • Execute any required administrative tasks.
  • Assist with proofreading different types of documentation.
  • Performs other tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Fresh university graduate from Business Administration or other relevant field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both English and Arabic.
  • Microsoft Office Skills - MS Windows, Excel, Word; and formatting letters and documents.
  • Attention to detail and a good analytical thinker.
  • Ability to manage complex activities and complete tasks on time.
  • A friendly and outgoing nature able to support a large and international team of professionals.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment as well as not hesitate to ask for guidance when needed.

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 3-6 months
