Job Description

Responsibilities

At Socit Gnrale Corporate & Investment Banking (SGCIB), you will join the Coverage team, within GLBA Global Banking & Advisory division, which is in charge of marketing globally the whole span of the bank's products to its major clients as a Support Analyst.

Working closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) and Senior Bankers in charge of large Corporates, Financial Institutions, Sovereigns and Family Offices clients in the Middle East region, you will provide them with daily commercial support in their client relationship. You will also liaise with SG's entities (business lines, branches and subsidiaries) for supporting the Bank's activities on the Client Portfolio. Ensuring the proper execution of vanilla senior unsecured loans and the contribution to the budget exercise, periodical clients studies and business reviews will also be part of your responsibilities.

The V.I.E. activity is centered around 3 main pillars:

  • Relationship management support (for Corporate and Sovereign coverage teams)
  • Assisting RMs and Senior Bankers with building the client's relationship by promoting the whole of products and services offered by SG CIB and the Group (including IB products, Structured Financing, Project Financing, Trade Financing, Cash Management Solutions, Clearing Solutions, etc...).
  • Assisting RMs, Senior Banker and Business Lines in the origination process through support to pitch preparation and RFP responses
  • Preparing Onboarding Memo for new prospects and Pre-Screening Memo for vanilla senior unsecured transactions which includes client data, calculation of profitability, risk-weighted assets consumption and potential business case
  • Providing relationship memos on clients: Briefing Memos for Senior Management's visits and relationship rationale for credit applications
  • Analytical and reporting support
  • Reporting and controlling of revenue from/risk of (NBI Net Banking Income / RWA Risk-Weighted Assets) the clients, correction of data of the internal reporting systems, and periodical profitability review analysis (Client Budget, Half-Yearly & Yearly Business Reviews, Client Business Case)
  • Middle Office for vanilla senior unsecured transactions (for Corporate and Sovereign coverage teams)
  • Supervising the implementation of new loan transactions done by Middle Office & the quarterly RWA review of the loans
  • Reviewing with the support of internal lawyers the legal documentations (NDAs, Term Sheet, Facility Agreement) in accordance with internal guidelines
  • Updating and maintaining the Bank's internal client database, including initiating creation of new entities with KYC

Due to the VIE eligibility criteria a questionnaire will be provided. Please make sure to answer all the questions for an efficient analysis of your application.

Please note that for the missions outside the European countries, a VISA is necessary. Please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure. Otherwise, we strongly advise you to launch asap the renewal of your passport.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Financial Markets/Corporate Finance/Business/Accounting
  • A previous experience in a financial institution/Coverage-related environment would be appreciated

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English (B2-C1)
  • Arabic would be an advantage

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of banking principles and finance
  • Analytical skills
  • Adaptability and curiosity
  • Problem solving approach
  • A good understanding of the general, economic, political and business environment of the Arabian region would be a plus

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Dubai is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months. The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.
