Job Summary:
The Vendor Relations Specialist is responsible for onboarding, managing and enhancing relationships with vendors, ensuring effective communication, and coordinating contract negotiations. This position serves as a liaison between the organization and its vendors to secure the best products, services, and pricing. The Vendor Relations Specialist monitors vendor performance, resolves issues, and ensures vendor compliance with company standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring they meet performance and quality expectations
- Contract Negotiations: Assist in negotiating contracts, including terms, pricing, and service level agreements, to ensure favorable terms for the organization
- Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor vendor performance, assessing adherence to contractual obligations and identifying areas for improvement
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any vendor-related issues
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure vendors comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements, maintaining updated records of compliance status
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams to understand their needs and communicate relevant vendor-related information
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report data on vendor performance, cost savings, and process improvements
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in vendor relationships and develop strategies to mitigate these risks
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain roles
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and vendor performance assessment
- Ability to handle conflict and resolve issues effectively
- Familiarity with contract management and procurement software
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
