Urgent Opportunity: Vice President - Commercial Banking Relationship Management (Qatarization)

Location: Qatar

Join a major financial institution and play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the Commercial Banking sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned credit clients, ensuring targets are met and quality is maintained. Implement corrective measures promptly as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the Sector Head, guiding the team to ensure credit proposals adequately address all risk factors and meet required standards.
  • Conduct proactive sales activities and regularly update client contact databases.
  • Systematically visit client premises, conduct meetings, and deliver presentations as needed.
  • Identify early warning signs of potential problematic accounts/relationships and report them in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Banking, QNB Capital, regional and international branches, Treasury, and other departments to perform cross-selling activities and strengthen client relationships.
  • Supervise the introduction of conventional corporate banking products targeted at Commercial Banking customers.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key managers of existing and potential clients, ensuring consistent service and timely responses to client needs.
  • Prepare periodic management reports for the SVP of Commercial Banking and other executive management, providing insights into the sector's performance and portfolio health.
  • Review credit applications and financial documents, identifying risks and implementing necessary mitigating actions during the annual review process.
  • Perform financial analysis for assigned clients, assessing performance and repayment capacity.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the banking industry, preferably within the local/Gulf region.
  • Strong knowledge of market structures, industry practices, and corporate banking regulations in the GCC.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and a strong understanding of risk management principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate banking products, financial statements, and relevant ratios, along with experience introducing covenants into facility structures.
  • Ability to design and tailor banking products to meet customer needs, with a strong emphasis on cross-selling opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of cash flow analysis, financial models, and credit risk assessment.
  • Personal integrity, self-motivation, and excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding customer service orientation with strong planning, organizing, and analytical abilities.
