Position Overview:
The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the CEO and serve as a key executive leadership team member. This senior-level position will oversee the company's financial operations, develop and execute financial strategies, and ensure the alignment of financial performance with organizational goals. The VP of Finance will play a crucial role in shaping business strategy, optimizing financial performance, and managing key financial risks while leading a high-performing finance team. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to develop and implement the company's financial strategy.
- Provide financial leadership in all key decision-making processes, capital investment, and long-term business planning.
- Align financial goals with the company's strategic vision, ensuring financial resources are optimized to drive business growth.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Oversee the development of the company's budget, long-term financial forecasts, and financial planning processes.
- Lead the financial forecasting process to ensure business targets and financial goals are met, and provide regular updates on performance.
- Provide insightful analysis on financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs), offering actionable recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Financial Reporting & Oversight:
- Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for the CEO, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
Cash Flow and Capital Management:
- Oversee the company's cash flow management to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations, growth, and capital expenditures.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize working capital and manage capital structure.
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, assess ROI, and ensure efficient allocation of financial resources.
Profitability & Cost Management:
- Identify and drive initiatives to improve profitability, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency across the business.
- Implement cost-control measures and performance improvement strategies in partnership with business leaders.
- Analyze and assess product profitability, pricing strategies, and cost structures to drive margin improvement.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Oversee risk management activities, including financial, operational, and market risks, ensuring the company's financial health is protected.
- Develop and implement policies to mitigate financial risks, including currency, credit, and liquidity risks.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong partnerships with other departments to ensure financial strategies are effectively executed and aligned with business objectives.
- Promote professional development opportunities for finance staff and ensure they have the skills to meet the company's evolving needs.
Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary financial spokesperson for the organization, communicating financial performance and strategy to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, the Board of Directors, and senior executives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key financial partners, including banks, auditors, and other external advisors.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred).
- Experience: At least 15 years of experience in financial management, ideally within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
- Financial Expertise: Extensive experience in financial management, forecasting, strategic financial planning, cash flow management, and profitability analysis.
- Leadership & People Management: Proven ability to lead and motivate high-performing finance teams, providing mentorship and strategic guidance.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically, anticipate business needs, and proactively drive the financial strategy of the organization.
- Stakeholder Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, including the CEO, Board of Directors, and external investors.
