New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Visual Content Specialist, reporting to the Managing Editor.

The Visual Content Specialist plays a crucial role in capturing and conveying the University's narrative through engaging photography and some videography. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to produce visual stories that accurately represent the vibrancy of university life, the achievements of its students, and the groundbreaking research of its faculty. The specialist is also responsible for managing the digital asset library, overseeing equipment, and coordinating the involvement of external freelancers or vendors for specialized projects.

Key Respnsibilities:


Capturing, editing, and delivering high-quality photographs and managing some videography for events, projects, and publications. Includes organizing and maintaining digital assets in an accessible manner
Leading major visual storytelling projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with the University's brand and narrative goals. This duty encompasses managing and coordinating external freelancer or vendor engagements, facilitating their campus access and integration with the External Relations team
Responding to and prioritizing community requests for visual content based on strategic importance and
deadlines
Providing creative direction for marketing initiatives, social media content, websites, and other media projects. Includes maintaining an inventory of photographic and video graphic equipment, and managing its storage, repair, or upgrade

Qualifications:

Required Education:


Bachelor's Degree in photography, photojournalism, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in visual content creation
Professional training in photography and practical knowledge of videography.

Required Experience:


Proficiency in photo and video editing software (e.g., Photoshop, Lightroom, Adobe Suite)
Expertise in digital asset management, studio photography, and lighting
Demonstrable skills in video recording and editing

Preferred Experience:


5+ years of experience in visual content creation, with extensive photography skills and a solid background in managing complex projects, including some videography work
