OVERVIEW
Role Purpose
- Takes inventory of incoming goods, sold goods and stored goods to ensure accuracy and proper accountability to the employer.
- Work closely with the Sales and Procurement departments to ensure that goods are always made available to the customers in the marketplace.
- Responsible for assigned materials, inventory, and supplies in assigned warehouse.
- Make recommendations to reduce costs.
Key Accountabilities& Key Activities:
Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to
- Coordinate warehouse operations in accordance with 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain) techniques in manufacturing.
- Receive, pull stock, store, and maintain warehouse inventory.
- Ensure that proper inventories are maintained and documented.
- Execute periodic physical inventory counts
- Responsible for the issuance of materials and supplies to all departments.
- Scrutinize all deliveries and ensure that defective or incorrect items are returned.
- Examine stock and dispose of depreciated and obsolete stock.
- Key departmental orders into the inventory management system.
- Provide detailed reports on departmental charges.
- Responsible for the preparation of requisitions for supplies and materials.
- Keep documentation of materials and supplies issued.
- Preserve records and prepare related reports.
- Fully responsible for all the plant stores.
- Ensure correct and consistent stock count and tracking.
- Execute established controls over his assigned warehouses.
- Ensure proper inventory classification, coding, and storage.
- Complete purchase orders to replenish inventory shortage.
- Ensure materials, supplies, and inventory in accordance with the purchase orders.
- Inform Department Head in case of spillage or obsolescence of any item.
- Prepare a variety of routine and special reports as required.
- Check, process, and clear customers orders for shipments.
- Keep the warehouse and its environs clean to ensure safety.
- Sort, arrange, and label all the goods in the warehouse.
- Prepare all orders for shipment or for nearby purchase.
- Collaborate with procurement department to ensure regular availability of goods.
- Offer valuable advice to management on goods procurement & marketing strategies.
Necessary Knowledge and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of overall experience in equivalent position.
- Skill of leadership and effective communication.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking ability.
- Assertiveness and confidence
- Goal-driven with ability to work under pressure
- Good problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with SAP/ C4C.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Education and Certification Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in the basic operations of the warehouse like stacking, arrangement, and cleaning of the warehouse
- A minimum of 3 years working experience in any reputable organization is a plus
