Overview
- This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP**
Under the supervision of the Supply and Services (S&S) Director ,Theater Distribution Manager and/or Operations Manager, manages either the LRC/SSA Warehouse, Foreword Redistribution Point, the Central Issue Facility / Self Service Supply Center, CBRN Warehouse and Basic Life Support by performing technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization) that is related to depot, local, retrograde or other supply activities. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all tasks are accomplished safely and with a focus upon quality. Plans shifts to meet mission needs and verifies actual hours worked by personnel to manage overtime. Ensures personnel complete all tasks in accordance with Environmental, Safety & Health directives. Provides Leadership and mentors junior personnel to develop appropriate skill sets. Addresses Customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.

- Using a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines, and an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced, applies analytical ability to define and take appropriate supply action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
- Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility.
- Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations, or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty.
- The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions.
- This work may require consideration of program requirements, together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines.
- Inventory management: Responsible for inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies, and equipment.
- Items managed typically are of low unit or annual demand value, involve short procurement lead time (less than 9 months), are obtained from standard or other readily available sources of supply, and reflect relatively stable patterns of demand. Items usually are of a general, common-use type, nonrepairable and seldom require intensive investigation of atypical variations in their supply and demand patterns.
- Positions are located in local, regional, or headquarters offices for which the military supply management organization has overall inventory management responsibility.
- The work includes requirement determination and forecasting, distribution or redistribution of material, procurement authorization, limited funds management, or other related work.
- Material coordination: Performs material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Approximate Hours per Year are performed on the basis of practical experience in processing and expediting supply transactions related to the particular organizations serviced.
- Responsible for Personnel Management to include: Work assignments, Counseling, Overtime assignments, Shifts, and other administrative functions.
- Responsible for administrative matters to include: Development and implementation of SOP's, ISO quality performance and document control, Time Sheet Approvals, Files management, CDRL review and submission, and Administration of certification, licensing and training documentation.
- Ensures proper security procedures are complied with to include: Key and Lock inventory and control, Security construction statements in each storage location, escorting personnel requiring access to the warehouse not on approved access rosters and daily security of all building, offices and equipment.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- GCSS-Army System training certificate desired or must be able to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret Clearance
- A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License, is required.
- Experience:
- 5 years experience in warehousing, supply operations, freight, and/or transportation
- 3 years management experience on programs of similar size and complexity.
- Skills:
- MS Office with an intermediate level of WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT.
- Experience in military or commercial supply management software is required.
- Extensive GCSS-Army experience a must
- Supervisory Training
- Ability to deliver training on his/her area of expertise to the lowest level
- Strong analytical skills
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Will have direct oversight of Retrograde Warehouse and Stock Control Staff Warehouse, BLS personnel and Stock Control Staff.
- Working Conditions:
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
