Role Purpose:
The Water Treatment and Quality Control Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our products through rigorous testing, inspection, and adherence to quality standards in the beverage industry. This role will oversee and manage the entire filtration process, including reverse osmosis, carbon sand filtration, iron removal, backwash procedures, and Clean-In-Place (CIP) operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of all water treatment and filtration processes, including reverse osmosis, carbon sand filtration, and iron removal.
- Monitor and adjust system parameters to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of filtration equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the production of high-quality beverages.
- Perform line quality monitoring for carbonated beverages and Packaged Drinking Water to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular water quality testing and analysis, including pH, carbonation, and microbial content, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Document and report any deviations from quality standards and implement corrective actions.
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment for conducting tests and analyses on beverage samples.
- Conduct calibration of lab instruments to maintain accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Handle and dispose of non-conforming materials or products according to established procedures and regulations.
- Manage backwash procedures to clean filtration media and maintain system efficiency.
- Oversee Clean-In-Place (CIP) operations to ensure thorough cleaning of reverse osmosis systems and other filtration equipment.
- Schedule and coordinate CIP activities to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Perform routine maintenance on filtration equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to water filtration processes and equipment.
- Work with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and replacements of faulty equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of filtration processes, maintenance activities, and quality control tests.
- Keep accurate records of quality control activities, test results, and product specifications.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on system performance, water quality, and maintenance activities.
- Use data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and implement process optimizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the beverage industry.
- Experience in the Water Manufacturing sector preferred.
- Experience with water treatment and filtration processes, including reverse osmosis, carbon filtration, and quality control.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of water chemistry and filtration technologies.
- Proficient in using water quality testing equipment and interpreting results.
- Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of filtration equipment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to water treatment and filtration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in water treatment or filtration technologies.
- Experience with automated control systems and data management software.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
