Job Summary: The Welder is responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape. This role requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Welding Operations:- Perform welding tasks using various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
Operate welding equipment and tools, ensuring proper use and maintenance.- Measure and align workpieces using tools like micrometers, calipers, and rulers.
Reading and Interpreting Blueprints:- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
Ensure all welding work meets project specifications and standards.Material Preparation:
Select appropriate materials for the job.
- Prepare and clean surfaces to be welded.
Quality Control:
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
Perform tests to check the strength and durability of the welds.
Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including wearing appropriate protective gear.- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Work with other team members and departments to complete projects on time.- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
High school diploma or equivalent.- Certification in welding from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 3-5 years of welding experience.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.- Strong attention to detail and precision.
Knowledge of safety standards and practices in welding.
