1) Actively follow the Safety and Security policies.
2) Operate hoists and winches to lift and pull loads.
3) Awareness on using power-operated cable equipment on winches ie., moving levers and throttles
4) Start and stop speeds of hoist or winch drums in response to a variety of signals, including hand, bell, telephone, radio signals.
5) Use levers and pedals to wind or unwind cable on drums to lift or ground the cargo load.
6) Monitor equipment levers, Indicators, working condition to verify the load position and centre of gravity of the subject cargo whilst lifting/grounding.
7) Repositioning the winch cranes from the shore side to waterside and vice versa based on the requirement.
8) Loading and unloading of the cargoes to the vessel and to the jetty area using the winch crane/mobile carne equipments.
9) Awareness on the equipment lifting capacity to the weight of load ratio to ensure the load falls under the safe working load practice
10) Awareness on operating the compressed air, diesel, electric, gasoline or steam driven hoists or winches to control movements of cableways, cages, derricks, draglines etc.
