GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for all maintenance planning and coordination of equipments maintenance Facilities with the Sr. Supervisor - Workshop.
- Must assist and plan with all departments regarding the general working aspects of equipments maintenance facilities.
- Should ensure that the short and long term objectives of the workshop maintenance divisions are worked towards and achieved through high quality and reliable maintenance personnel and service.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and reports, pertaining to the maintenance operations of equipment.
- Report to the Sr. Supervisor Workshop on the progress and issues with maintenance facilities and maintenance services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversee and manage the repair and maintenance of equipment while ensuring an accurate log of all service activities carried out
- Ensure MCS is updated at all times with the most accurate equipment status
- Carry out a physical check on the system to ensure data recorded is most up to date and accurate
- Assist other maintenance personnel with equipment repairs as required and oversee the planning and coordination of maintenance jobs
- Prioritizes maintenance activities as required and coordinates with Mechanical supervisors for completion of tasks
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
- Complete and present detailed repair reports to Sr. workshop supervisor.
- Works with the line manager to assess nature of job and allocate tasks based on in house competence to achieve quickest turnaround time
- On a daily basis update MCS with total cost estimates for the work to be performed: labor, material, and outside services.
- Works with the respective Mechanical Supervisors to determine resource availability.
- Actively participate in engaging with the respective operation teams to finalize priority of work orders, achieve minimum downtime, and establish necessary lead times.
- Ensures maintenance personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that maintenance programs can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Responsible to report any non-conformance to the management and ensure that all the issues are resolved in timely manner.
- Communicates regularly with all maintenance personnel, both individually and as a group, to ensure a good communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of the maintenance personnel.
- Make a deliberate effort to gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the Companys QHSE Policies and Procedures and adherence to the same.
- Ensure safety targets and a zero tolerances for unsafe working practices and conditions.
- Ensure that all requests to perform unsafe work practices that may result in damage to machinery, people or property are declined.
- Working knowledge of blueprints and heavy equipment systems such as generators, air conditioning, specialized lightings, air compressors, high pressure pumps and air dryers.
- Intermediary - Advanced : computer literacy
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting and applying information in technical manuals and other documents.
- Effective communication skills, with ability to deliver presentations and communicate issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems arising due to repair and maintenance of assets
- High level of self-motivation and superior organization and leadership skills.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of blueprints and heavy equipment systems such as generators, air conditioning, specialized lightings, air compressors, high pressure pumps and air dryers.
- Intermediary - Advanced : computer literacy
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting and applying information in technical manuals and other documents.
- Effective communication skills, with ability to deliver presentations and communicate issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems arising due to repair and maintenance of assets
- High level of self-motivation and superior organization and leadership skills.
- 8+ years of work experience in office administrative/supervisory role preferably in heavy duty equipment maintenance planning or field work.
